Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec Unveil the Vibrant and Dazzling Themes of Their 28th Edition!

Québec, May 29, 2024 – For their 28th edition, Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec will light up the skies from August 1 to August 24, offering eight uniquely eclectic events! Once again, Place des Canotiers in Québec City and Quai Paquet in Lévis will serve as the stage for breathtaking pyromusical shows, preceded by lively and colourful evenings. This entirely free program promises an unforgettable experience for visitors and locals alike!

On both sides of the St. Lawrence River, every Tuesday and Thursday evening in August, as well as on Saturday, August 24, attendees can enjoy entertainment across all venues, a photo booth, and music provided by a DJ. Food trucks and bars will also be on-site to satisfy cravings—and thirst! Starting at 6:00 p.m., visitors can take part in the many activities that bring each of the summer’s eight themes to life.

This 28th edition brings exciting new features, including large-scale roaming performances and the introduction of a new visual effects technology, enhancing the shows and diversifying the audience experience. Additionally, on Saturday, August 24, for the grand finale, families can enjoy a full day of free activities starting at noon.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 1: RIO CARNIVAL

Destination: Brazil! Expect dazzling artistic and musical performances straight from the land of samba, a vibrant parade, and towering stilt walkers who will turn heads. Get ready for feathers and sequins!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6: WEDDING NIGHT

This year, Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec present a one-of-a-kind wedding night experience. The evening’s lineup includes a live wedding ceremony, bouquet toss, wedding cake, and many other iconic elements of a love-filled celebration.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 8: EXTRAVAGANZA

With dynamic entertainment, a drag queen show, and makeup workshops, Extravaganza promises a festive and unforgettable evening! A dedicated LGBTQ+ booth will also be present to raise awareness of community issues and provide a welcoming space for everyone.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 13: BACK TO THE 60s

For one night, we’re embracing the bohemian spirit! The Back to the 60s event will feature various booths and themed activity zones for a full immersion into the era’s unique vibe.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 15: YEEHAW!

Cowboy hats and boots will take over Place des Canotiers and Quai Paquet for the Yeehaw! night. It’s time to show off your agility and skills with country dance lessons, live performances, and the ultimate challenge—the mechanical bull! Themed booths will also be on-site for an authentic Wild West experience.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20: SPORTS CELEBRATION

This year, Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec are getting people moving! Expect fun and friendly competition with climbing walls, balance boards and slacklines, and inflatable sports games! Plus, get ready for a BBQ feast, as the one and only Maître Fumeur and his army of grills serves up the flavours of summer!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 22: CHRISTMAS IN SUMMER

Even in the heat of summer, we’re bringing the magic of Christmas to Québec and Lévis! Get ready for festive decorations, legendary holiday characters, and plenty of seasonal surprises—because it’s never too early for Christmas cheer!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 24: CARNIVAL NIGHT

The Carnival Night will wrap up this vibrant August festival in style! A wide variety of fairground games will take over Place des Canotiers and Quai Paquet, bringing joy and excitement for kids and adults alike!

While the event is completely free, festival-goers can upgrade their experience with various packages and exclusive activities offered by event partners. Getting There With Public Transit

To make travel easier, the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) will offer several options, including regular and high-frequency bus services, park-and-ride locations, and electric bike-sharing services (àVélo). About Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec

Founded in 1995, Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec presents world-class pyromusical shows each summer, bringing together the cities of Québec and Lévis. Launched from a stabilized barge in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, these high-precision performances attract more than 700,000 visitors every year, dazzling spectators along both riverbanks with a spectacular fiery display in the night sky.

Since 2012, the event has been organized by Les Créations Pyro, a nonprofit organization founded that same year in Québec.
