The GFLQ Unveil Eight Bold Themes For Their 29th Edition!

Québec City, May 28, 2025 – The Grands Feux Loto-Québec (GFLQ) are thrilled to unveil the vibrant and festive themes that will set the Québec City region aglow from July 31 to August 23, 2025.

For eight unforgettable nights, Place des Canotiers in Québec City and Quai Paquet in Lévis will come alive with engaging, high-energy activities showcasing local talent and artists. Entirely free of charge, these events will energize both shores ahead of the renowned pyromusical shows set to light up the evening skies. A lively, eclectic, and inclusive program, reflecting the spirit of our city.

Starting at 6 p.m. each night, the public can enjoy:

  • Electrifying musical ambiance with DJs, bands, and musicians
  • Food trucks and bars
  • Bold, themed entertainment across all sites
  • Performances featuring outstanding local artists

A special program on Saturday, August 23 will kick off at noon, filled with activities to celebrate the grand finale. Country fans won’t want to miss this one!

Opening Night

Thursday, July 31: Mardi Gras Carnival

This 29th edition kicks off with a festive journey inspired by the world-famous Mardi Gras carnival in New Orleans! Expect artistic and musical performances, dazzling entertainment, and a flamboyant parade that will fill the night with the colourful rhythms of the carnival. Grab your masks, beads, and glitter!

Tuesday, August 5: Sugar Shack

It’s maple syrup season at Les Grands Feux! On the menu: maple treats, traditional music, spoon-playing, folk dancing, and other classic Québec activities to warm hearts and spirits. Get your favourite plaid shirt — it’s time to swing!

Thursday, August 7: Pajama Party

Put on your best pajamas for a wildly fun evening! The goal: break the world record for the largest pajama gathering. Forgot yours? No worries — the Pop Underwear pop-up shop will be on-site with the coziest looks. Expect surprises, games, and nostalgic fun — just like your best childhood sleepovers!

Tuesday, August 12: Street Art

Let creativity and urban expression take the stage! Live graffiti, barber shops, dance battles, and much more will transform the event sites into a vibrant open-air cultural hub. An electric atmosphere and inspiring artists — this night is going to be epic!

Thursday, August 14: Karaoke

Grab the mic — it’s your time to shine! Hidden talents may emerge as karaoke classics get the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs. Be warned: your vocal cords might need a rest afterward!

Tuesday, August 19: Ibiza

Get ready for an electro night! Throw on your neon outfits and sunglasses — the dance floor awaits for an electrifying evening. With palm trees, sunny vibes, and festive energy, we’ll be celebrating summer in all its glory!

Thursday, August 21: St. Patrick’s Day

Irish at heart or just a fan of beer? St. Patrick’s Day returns with Celtic football, a spectacular parade, and joyous vibes worthy of Dublin. Wear your green and let the Irish dancing take you away!

Grand Finale

Saturday, August 23: Cowgirl

Put on your boots and cowboy hat — it’s time to go full Western! Expect line dancing classes, an all-female music performance, mechanical bull riding, and lasso tossing — perfect for awakening your inner cowgirl. Plus, the festivities start at noon. Yee-haw!

While the event is completely free, several partners are offering ways to enhance your experience with various packages and activities. Opt for Public Transit

To ease transportation, Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) will provide multiple options, including regular and high-frequency buses, park-and-ride lots, and the àVélo bike-share service. In Lévis, the Société de transport de Lévis will offer a shuttle service during each event.

About the Grands Feux Loto-Québec
Founded in 1995, the Grands Feux Loto-Québec present world-class pyromusical shows every summer, uniting the cities of Québec and Lévis. Fired from a stabilized barge in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, these high-precision performances attract over one million visitors each year who come to admire this unique spectacle lighting up a spectacular setting. Since 2012, the event has been organized by Les Créations Pyro, an NPO based in Québec City.
